This Week's Obsession: The Circular Event of the Season

This Week's Obsession: The Circular Event of the Season

From the outset, orchestrating an experiential fashion and panel event appeared straightforward, yet it proved to be a formidable endeavour to unify all elements. We are ecstatic to report that the venue was breathtaking, the models mesmerising, the clothing and accessories were of outstanding quality, and the panel was simply exceptional!

The audience was so captivated by the show and panel discussion that we deviated from our schedule to include audience questions, which exceeded our expectations. Attendees posed thoughtful and stimulating inquiries, and our panel responded with enlightening insights. The vibrant energy continued as we transitioned into the brunch and networking segment, where attendees relished connecting with fellow enthusiasts, lingering long after the event concluded.

Our expert panelists from left to right:

Coco Panazza: CEO My Wardrobe HQ, Founder of Cercle
Antonia Johnstone: Founder & CEO of Sign of the Times

Vote for Me--The Celine Teen Nino Triomphe

Nino bag reinvigorates the storied Triomphe logo

Introducing the Nino, where cutting-edge style meets timeless elegance, effortlessly enhancing the allure of the Celine ready-to-wear collection. Hedi Slimane masterfully achieves a harmonious blend of sleek modernity and classic sophistication.

Crafted with a nod to tradition, the Nino's unique silhouette is achieved through age-old techniques, delivering a bag that is both structured and pliable. This artful contrast makes it the perfect accessory for any occasion, offering endless styling possibilities.

The Nino truly excels in versatility. Its simplistic yet elegant design, highlighted by a feminine top handle and the distinguished Triomphe logo hardware, makes it adaptable for both upscale and casual settings.

Our hearts are set on the delightful pale pink or poudre patent, ideal for any season. Available in a variety of sizes and leathers, the Nino offers both Teen and Medium options. While the Teen features two inner flat pockets, the Medium boasts three, ensuring optimal organization. Designed as an authentic top-handle bag, it exudes an elusive French sophistication, yet includes the practicality of a longer strap for shoulder or crossbody wear.

Love It or 'Hate' It--Trend: Oddly shaped bags

The Good, the Bad, and the Curious

The emergence of uniquely shaped designer bags, often labeled as “sculptural” or “experimental,” has elicited diverse opinions in the fashion industry. Here's an overview of the general consensus:

The Good

Bold Statements: These bags serve as daring, artistic expressions, helping wearers distinguish themselves and infuse a distinctive flair into their ensembles.

Creativity and Innovation: Many admire the ingenuity involved, as these designs defy traditional bag shapes and uses, marking a transition from fashion’s practical roots to a more artistic future.

Fashion as Art: Some view these bags as wearable art pieces. Fashion enthusiasts and collectors who value the blend of art and design are often drawn to these unusual forms.

The Bad

Practicality Issues: The eccentric shapes often hinder functionality, offering limited storage and awkward handling, which can annoy those seeking both style and practicality in their accessories.

Trend-Driven Nature: Critics claim these bags are excessively trendy, potentially having a brief lifespan in the ever-changing fashion landscape, and thus might not be a lasting investment.

Divisive Appearance: The avant-garde style isn’t universally appreciated. Some traditionalists consider these bags too impractical or unattractive for everyday use.

The Curious

If you’ve had every type of bag there is (and some fashion girls have), the only way to add some excitement is with a trend that is readily available in 2024: oddly shaped bags. So many curious shapes,  distorted proportions and objects to out-of-the-box silhouettes, designers are having fun with shape and size, and this will continue (and expand) for years to come. We'll pass on this one but if you're a fan, let us know which one you fancy and we'll add it to our voting
